Reviewing cigars and the lifestyle surrounding them.
"CAO Maduro L’anniversaire"
This dark chocolate maduro stick costing $9.00, had no tooth and virtually no veins. Having a box press, this stick burned amazing. The ash was a dark grey color with a razor sharp burn. The pre lit aroma consisted of chocolate notes with aged tobacco. The draw was very loose producing a ton of chewy rich smoke. The first third showed flavorful notes of chocolate and coffee with cream and a slight pepper zing on the finish. By the half way point, the sweetness was vanishing and the main flavors transitioned into an expresso flavor with wood and the pepper was still noticeable on the finish. The last third mellowed out to a black coffee with almost no pepper or sweetness to take note of. Definitely a complex blend compared to a typical maduro stick. As always, Stay Toasting!
